Facebook Country Stats August 2012
Looking at the top 10 countries with the most Facebook users, the most prominent data point is certainly the increase in active users from Great Britain.
The Facebook user base of the UK has grown by almost 16% within the last month. That’s really a significant growth. Measured against population figures from the UK, that means that more than half of the population is represented on Facebook.
It looks like this Facebook country stats growing trend is attributed to the Olympic games 2012 hosted by London. London 2012 is commonly referred as the first Social Olympics. The IOC itself, and many, many other services, TV channels, the media and many more combining the social media channels with that major sporting event.
The question is, are these really new UK-based Facebook users, is this a growing trend related to the millions of visitors, which log into their Facebook accounts from London or is it just a overestimated number from the Facebook Ads tool? Let us know what you think.
